The benchmark

The State of DOAP Survey: keeping a pulse on how our ecosystem is performing.

We are tracking an annual survey across every platform in the Alliance ecosystem (not just our member platforms) of how each performs across our core tenets. We also provide you with a score on how well you and your organization are doing.

Platform DOAP Score

How well a platform supports you, built from every answer for it.

How the score is built

The DOAP Score runs 0 to 100 in four tiers: Building (0–49), Scaling (50–69), Optimizing (70–84) and Leading (85–100). Optimizing also needs every area at 50 or above, and Leading every area at 65 or above, so one strong area cannot carry a missing one. Scores are absolute, not graded on a curve: you move up by improving. Today six scored practices feed it, backup, restore expectation, restore rehearsal, staging, change visibility and schema documentation, each 0 to 3. The rubric is published with the report; until then the score on screen is marked provisional.

Building0–49
Putting core practices in place: source control, repeatable deploys, basic automation.
Scaling50–69
Practices are consistent and automated across teams and environments.
Optimizing70–84
Measuring, tuning and making delivery self-service; reliability is designed in.
Every area 50+
Leading85–100
Setting the bar: practices others copy, continuous improvement, contributing back.
Every area 65+
