Platforms
All App Platforms need some love.
We are tracking all app platforms (let us know if we’re missing one). We monitor interest and require a minimum bar of interest before accepting committed members. It’s up to you to commit to any platforms you want to see join the Alliance.
The Platform Approval process
We closely monitor all potential platforms and only accept them once we are confident the expert community can support them. We have 5 stages to track their progress.
- 1Collecting interest
Gathering initial interest, collecting DOAP Survey results and committing members.
- 2Awaiting approval
Once we receive sufficient demand (a minimum of 20 committed members and quality applications to the platform committees), we take it to the Alliance Board for approval.
- 3Approved
The Alliance Board decides if the platform meets our minimum criteria for app platforms we can support.
- 4Certified
Once approved, we quickly begin the process to create a certification specific to the platform.
- 5Participating
We accept platforms if there is enough member demand, but we all win once the platform company sees the power of the Alliance and joins as a Platform member.

Database-first applications, with the ability to add on apps and UI.
UI-first front-end apps with some backend functionality.
AI prompt building (often called vibe coding) as the primary way to develop apps.
Hosted backend solutions, often paired with another tool as the front end, though some have their own.
More robust platforms that cover every aspect, in some form, of deploying and hosting applications.
